LEE "SCRATCH" PERRY'S "BACK ON THE CONTROLS" NOMINATED FOR GRAMMY AWARD

Veteran of dub Lee "Scratch" Perry released his new album through a very successful kickstarter campaign in 2014. His producer, Daniel Boyle of Rolling Lion Studio, is a customer of S-CAT. We were very proud to learn that Dan included our circuit bent "Dubsta" digital delay in the production, and blown away to hear that they have been nominated for a Grammy! The photo shows Dan and Lee in the studio with our circuit bent delay in the foreground. Our circuit bent Dubsta delay even made it onto the gatefold artwork (see bottom right corner).

INTRODUCING OUR LATEST SUPPORTER : THE PRODIGY'S LIAM HOWLETT

Liam kindly invited us to his London studio to run through the controls of the circuit bent Casio MT-40 and Casio MT-65 that we built for him. He commented that our circuit bent creations stood out to him for their musicality and craziness.

S-CAT DUB SIREN ON STAGE WITH THE PRODIGY

The Prodigy's Liam Howlett took his Dub-Siren out to Moscow on the Russian leg of their 2015 tour! We spotted it in the YouTube video of "Nasty". Exciting stuff for us to see our instruments being used by a world class act in front of such a massive crowd. You can see the siren on the left in the still.

The Prodigy Live in Moscow
We also took along our new products that we have been working on with John W. Oram and Dave Cherry: the Dub-Siren, Dub-Synth and the brand new BBD analogue Dubsta-Delay. His immediate reaction was very positive. We left him an S-CAT/Oram analogue Dub-Siren to use on the Russian leg of The Prodigy's tour. He has since bought a Dub-Synth to use in the studio, and will be taking one of the first batch of delays to complete the set.

As a UK manufacturer, we are very happy that one of the biggest UK artists is using our instruments!

S-CAT & BIOSYSTEM FEATURE IN FLUX PAVILION'S BASS CANNON VIDEO SHOOT

Lots of fun was had by all on a very long day of filming at Tabor Farm, Essex, when Flux Pavilion's "Bass Cannon" shot up the charts and a serious music video was required. Directed by Tom Paton, with lighting by IADWM and using the Biosystem rig as a backdrop, the mad scientists got to work on their victims. S-CAT provided the Bass Cannon intensity device as a last-minute prop. Arron took on the task of directing a leaf-blower into the faces of the poor actors to warp and distort them!

He currently uses them in the production of the soundtrack for Nickelodeon's HARVEY BEAKS, an animated series which currently airs all over the world.

NEW ANALOGUE DUBSTA DELAY DEMO: WITH MOOG THEREMIN

We are currently building the first test versions of the revised Dubsta, our groundbreaking analogue delay. Andy Barak-Smith brought his theremin into the studio to try out our prototype. The results were fantastic, the otherworldly tones of the Moog theremin are a perfect match to the analogue delay. You can hear the modulation of the delay to great effect in the video.

NEW MAX ROMEO ALBUM: PRODUCED BY DANIEL BOYLE

Daniel Boyle is building a great reputation working with veteran artists. First Lee "Scratch" Perry, now Max Romeo! A few years ago, Dan bought one of our circuit bent digital "Dubsta" delays.

We are really happy that it is still being used in Rolling Lion Studio as he produces great music with these giants from the world of reggae. The new Max Romeo album, "Horror Zone", is soon to be released. Dan says of our delay that he "Used it all over the album".

LEE SCRATCH PERRY WEARS HIS CROWN - AND HIS S-CAT CIRCUIT BENT DIGITAL DUBSTA DELAY - WITH PRIDE

When we heard that Lee's studio
had burnt down, we wanted to help
out in a small way. So we built him
a circuit bent Dubsta delay, as
producer Daniel Boyle had used his
Dubsta on Lee's acclaimed "Back on
the controls" album.

He sent these awesome photos in
return, and we wish him many more
years of producing great music!

OUR ANALOGUE "DUBSTA" DELAY IS ABOUT TO GO INTO PRODUCTION!

We have begun to manufacture our first batch of the pure analogue "Dubsta" Delay. Powered by four MN3005 BBD chips, it looks and sounds great. The initial run of PCBs have already come back from the factory in the UK, and cases will follow shortly.
